No stress. Just don’t be slower than the pace set by the trainer. Finally you will be expected to “run”, executing the steps from memory within the allotted time. Failure happens at first, but this stage is where the stress and urgency get intense. You are not usually being set up for failure. Usually. “Recovering from failure” and “maintaining military bearing at all times” are standards you must be tested on.

It’s better to have those experiences in basic training rather than on a battlefield. Finally… there are some hazing-type experiences that are probably unavoidable. They will count down the seconds between waking everyone up and expecting them to be in formation. They will count down the seconds during shakedown (when they make you dump your bags out to inspect your possessions for contraband). They will count down the seconds when you run at your own pace. It is what it is.
