Over the long term, random rolls will yield both more Dragon rolling stones harley davidson shirt heroic and more specialized characters. By “more heroic” I mean faster, stronger, wiser, etc. By “more specialized” I mean more likely to have some strong suits and some true weaknesses (i.e. scores of 7 or lower). I think this is actually a good thing, in that it gives the players more of a chance of developing unique strengths starting from 1st level. One of the things I like the most about the 5th edition is the way that characters can flex and play lots of roles (e.g. the elvish wizard who is proficient in long sword and an ace with a healer’s kit), which is especially good for small parties. But the downside is that you have a lot of overlap between characters’ “schticks.”

Best Dragon rolling stones harley davidson shirt
If you want the best of both worlds, I’d recommend letting Dragon rolling stones harley davidson shirt them roll, but allowing them to adjust the scores they roll with point buys. E.g. you can take a 15 down to a 14 and get two points that you could use to bring a 6 up to a 7. You would probably have to widen the point buy scale (not sure if there are rules for that in the DMG, but it seems like the point cost of going from 17 to 18, or from 3 to 4, would be 3 or even 4 points). I like to offer both so the guys who think they don’t roll well, can choose point buy to make sure they have a decent character, and the risk-takers can go with dice rolling. There is one guy in our group that is a Dice God, and usually rolls averages of 15+. He always rolls, and always has great stats. someone once suggested I should force him to only use point buy. All I could think of is how petty that person suggesting it was.
